Richard Burdick was originally from New Jersey and moved to Baltimore Maryland in 1980. He started his career in Oncology Nursing after graduating from the Union Memorial School of Nursing in Baltimore, Maryland in 1994. He then worked as a Registered Nurse on the Oncology Medical Surgical Floor. He completed the accelerated Bachelors Degree to Masters Degree program at the University of Maryland School of Nursing in 1999. His career as a Nurse Practitioner, which began at the University of Maryland Cancer Center in GI and Head & Neck Cancers, continued for five years. In 2004 he accepted a position as Nurse Practitioner working for the Director of the Sinai Hospital Cancer Center in Baltimore, Maryland. In his new position he acquired knowledge in caring for patients with soft tissue sarcomas and various metastatic bone cancers. He left Sinai Hospital Cancer Center to join Hematology Oncology Associates in July, 2010.
